Ballycommon

Canal hamlet, Greenway trailhead and a great bakehouse.

Ballycommon, part of Daingean parish, is where the Greenway meets the link to Kilbeggan (opened 2022). Its trailhead, with parking and EV charging, opened in July 2025. Ballycommon Bake House by the canal serves coffee and home baking and hires bikes.

Why it matters: the western door into the Daingean stretch.
