Clonbullogue
Skydives, Tidy Towns medals and 1798 history.
Clonbullogue (Cluain Bolg) sits near where Offaly, Laois and Kildare meet, on an “island” of pasture beside the Bog of Allen. It is home to the Irish Parachute Club at Clonbullogue Airfield – tandem skydives for the brave. It has a strong Tidy Towns record, and a place in 1798 history: Wexford leaders Anthony Perry and Fr Mogue Kearns were captured here.
Why it matters: adventure for visitors, and proof of what a small community can achieve.
